Chapter 16: Master A Somehow Wants to Save the Villainess Witch (2)

Jeanne Alter (Jalter), the Witch of Vengeance, moving to burn France to ashes.

She was a woman created by a single man's hideous desire.

And as usual, she was roaming around to burn France when she discovered the group presumed to be Chaldea, whom she had heard were enemies, and descended.

She acknowledged that the Servants seemed to have some combat power...

But the Masters looked utterly pathetic.

Looking down on those weaker and lower than her, Jeanne Alter displayed an attitude of elitist disregard.

...(Jeanne Alter mocking them)...

Yes, she was right, so I didn't refute her. She was right.

I readily admitted it, unable to do a single thing. Being desired by a beautiful woman might have its demand, but I dislike it.

Still, I'll forgive her. But will they forgive her?

Before I could do anything...

They had already moved.

As if saying the rod is the only cure for tsundere/toxic brats (mesugaki), they beat her up like a dog on Boknal (dog days).

Her Servants couldn't do a thing and got γ€ŒDeath Perception-ed」. At least Martha had some screen time from our previous encounter... but the rest had their screen time deleted. They were just supporting characters in France anyway, right? It's a common cliché even in Isekai stories for enemy executives to appear all mighty only to be instantly deleted to show off the protagonist's power, right?

Four Saint Quartz obtained. And Fafnir's corpse, chopped up by Holy Swords and Holy Spears. Jalter knelt and apologized to me.

Seeing her like this is a bit pitiful. I didn't even take any mental damage, nor did I get hit anywhere.

Comparing Before & After, she looks too pathetic.

"Wow..."

"I didn't know a face could swell up like that..."

[That's a fracture, definitely a fracture...]

[I have connections with the Magic Association, you know? Even in my era, I never saw anything like that.]

[...I was lucky to only be turned into a pig.]

Right, being turned into a piglet was just a very mild prank. Look at Jalter's teeth rolling on the grass.

Unlike Ryona (beating fetish) works, she just looks realistically beaten up.

"Don't you have anything else!?"

"Hieek! N-No, I don't! There was a Holy Grail, but it's gone!"

"It was there?"

"It's gone!"

"Haa... Can't help it. Hey kid, prepare hot water. 1000 degrees."

"Yes~"

Taiga entered Yakuza mode, and Castoria immediately prepared boiling water. Oh my...

"Hieeeek! I'm sorry!!!"

"Let's cut off one finger first, then put the hand in. Don't worry, it'll just become boiled meat (Suyuk)."

"It's going to melt awayyyy!"

"That's enough. She's going to wet herself."

No... I can already feel the warmth from the yellow liquid on the grass. Hmm... Anyone watching would think we are the villains, right?

"She wet herself... Girls, please moderate a bit."

"But she insulted Master, isn't this permissible?"

"If anything, this is letting her off easy!"

"We are certainly going easy on her."

"Sigh..."

Good grief, at this rate, who is the villain? This feels completely like the Marines from One Piece, doesn't it?

"...S-Sorry."

"......"

Jalter hid behind Ritsuka's group, avoiding me. Hmm... I can hear my image crashing not just with Jalter but with Chaldea too. My reputation is going to break through the negative zone.

"For now, I've connected the path."

"Thanks. Now now, stop~"

"Sniff..."

Through Castoria's magecraft, a forced contract with Jalter proceeded, and the contract target was set to Ritsuka. Just as Medea breaks contracts with Rule Breaker and forcibly contracts Servants with her magecraft, or how Avicebron did with Spartacus in Apocrypha, Castoria was capable of that much. Though Jalter had high Magic Resistance, she was beaten up so badly...

I already know all the information, but I made Jalter spill it. The mastermind is the same, and the goal is no different from the original story. My existence is here, but it seems nothing has changed significantly. A blessing in disguise? Or not?

I currently have a total of 6 Saint Quartz. I can summon two more Servants with this... but summoning excessive power right now feels like too much. It's not like I can completely control them like before. Or should I summon a member with around Bond Level 8?

Honestly, I feel like whoever I summon will be more of the same. Or, if I speak seriously, would everyone refrain from going berserk?

Let's think about this a bit more seriously for now. Saint Quartz only appear when we defeat Servants. I should use them carefully. Shiki says she'll make them if I want... but relying on her too much feels a bit off.

Leaving Fafnir's corpse behind, we head to a nearby city based on Jalter's information.

"What exactly is that man...?"

"He claims to be a passing-by civilian?"

"How is that thing a civilian..."

Well, Jalter's reaction is accurate. It must be absurd that I'm a civilian. In reality, I have no abilities. As Shiki said, my level was high, but that didn't mean I had abilities. In a way, it's game accuracy.

The protagonist in the work didn't exactly get stronger ability-wise. While various things are reflected in Servants, levels aren't reflected in me or anything. I've used Craft Essences, but in my case, I can only equip them on Servants.

Depending on the Essence, I can use it as a buff like in the game or manifest it. I don't have that capability.

Civilian.

I have the power to summon and command Servants using the System, but I myself am a civilian. Yes, like Homeless Emperor from One-Punch Man, I have powerful abilities, but my body is that of a civilian.

This could be my biggest weakness. And Jalter will likely notice it too.

In a way... I'm exactly the original protagonist. The original protagonist is the weakest among all Fate protagonists. No, among all Type-Moon protagonists. But their leadership and mental strength are arguably top-tier among all protagonists.

However, I am certain I am not at that level. What can I do...? Such thoughts cross my mind.

"I have a bad feeling. Oi, Piss-pants."

"What!?"

"Forget it, what is in that castle?"

"Ah... It's the city Gilles said he'd go and conquer first. It's probably fallen by now? Fufu..."

Thwack!

Salter slapped the back of Jalter's head, but Jalter didn't react much to the pain. Hmm, you really became weak, Salter.

[As she said, I sense a strong magical reaction from inside! It's on par with Fafnir from before—no, this is... a demon? It's a type of magical energy not of this world!]

We approached the city surrounded by walls, and over the walls, we could see a massive Dagon-sama.

"Is Gilles de Rais there?"

"No, he's not."

If Shiki says so, did he just send the monster? Well, with the Holy Grail, what couldn't he do? Him being inside would only be for control. If not, there's no need for him to be inside.

"There are no people inside... right?"

"Yeah. Seems everyone is dead. He summoned horrors (sea demons) using people as sacrifices and called that thing."

"...Jeanne. Is this what you wanted?"

"Yeah. The fall of France. That's enough. No, actually... the destruction of the world. Revenge against the God who made me like this."

"I see."

I don't think she is guilty. If I had to say, she's closer to a brainwashed innocent person. As a Servant created by Gilles de Rais, she is somewhat similar. Taking human lives easily. That is reality, the Singularity.

"Still, killing people is wrong..."

"Ha, at least that calm one over there looks better?"

Ritsuka says a word to Jalter, but Jalter scoffs at me for remaining calm.

...

[There are no survivors, and if there are no Servants, there's no need to go... It's unfortunate, but we have to go elsewhere.]

[Are you listening? Let's secure another base first.]

"...There's a saying in a certain manga. What do you think life is? At least, shouldn't we clear those things away to appease the grudges of the dead? So..."

< You have selected Existing Summon. >

"Stomp on it..."

"Bunyan."

KWA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAA-ANG!!!!!!!!

Using Existing Summon, I summoned the Bond 10, Level 100 Bunyan, and she completely trampled the city flat.

[Ma-Magnitude 8!?]

"...So, Jeanne. In your eyes, does it look like your revenge will succeed?"

"......................"

"It's not that we can't kill you. We are choosing not to kill you. So, Jeanne. Don't laugh at things like this. Because you haven't done anything well."

Phew... I feel like I want to cool my head with a drink.
